We also use a duct cleaning inspection camera that allows us to see deep into the duct work to maximize our performance and guarantee that our job is completed properly.

“Why do I need my ducts cleaned?” Cleaning your system and air ducts will help improve the efficiency of your system and help with the indoor air quality of your home or office. The buildup of debris and/or contaminants makes your system work harder and therefore less efficient; which ultimately leads to a shorter life span of your system. While having dirty ducts doesn’t necessarily mean you home is “dirty” or “unhealthy”, but it definitely can contribute to certain health issues. Since your heating and cooling system is the most expensive appliance in your home, don’t you want it to last as long as possible?

“Do you have that $99 special?” Be aware of advertisements like this! Though it sounds good, rest assured there are plenty of hidden costs. Our free estimates ensure that there will be absolutely no hidden costs!

“When should I get my ducts cleaned?” It’s never a bad idea to rid your duct work of debris and dust. However, there are certain times that cleaning is highly recommended, including; If you have an older home, and it has never had the air ducts cleaned; after a renovation; when moving into a new home with an existing duct system; if mold is visible; if your ducts are infested with rodents or insects; or if you can see particles being released form the supply registers.

“Will cleaning my ducts help my system’s efficiency?” It is a good idea to get your entire system cleaned-not just the duct work. While getting your ducts cleaned can help eliminate odors, dust, and grime, just cleaning those alone won’t help with the efficiency. The real “efficiency sucker” is when other important components are dirty. Having the burners, coils, fan motor, and fan housing cleaned as well will help boost efficiency. According to the NADCA, in a typical 6 room home, up to 40 pounds of dust is created annually just through every day living. You can breathe easy knowing that your ducts are dust-free!

“How does your duct cleaning system work?” Our portable Duct cleaning system is brought into your home and placed near the furnace. We will penetrate the duct work near the furnace and attach the suction hose (think of it as a giant vacuum) We then will go around to each register and send down a hose that blows air towards the suction point. We will attach agitation tools and cameras to the blow hose that will help loosen the debris to send it into the machine. The cameras ensure we did not miss any large debris.

“Why don’t you have a large duct truck?” We opted to go with a powerful portable machine because studies show that you can get just as much suction at the furnace, and sometimes more with this portable unit as you can get with a duct truck. The reason this is possible is, with a large duct truck that is parked outside, long hoses will need to stretch all the way from the street into your furnace area. A lot of suction is being lost through those long hoses. With the portable unit, it is being brought in right next to the furnace and will only have a few feet of hose, therefore, not losing any suction to the machine. Yes, the duct cleaning trucks offer a lot more suction AT THE TRUCK, but once the air blows through those long hoses, it loses quite a bit of suction and is then equivalent to our portable machine.

Inspect to see if there is any mold present, or if there is an infestation of insects or rodents.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON CLEANING DAY

• We will turn off the system for safety
• Penetrate the duct work near the furnace
• connect a hose to the duct work
• seal all registers
• clean each supply run & main trunk line one at a time with tools and cameras
• unseal registers, remove and clean
• re-attach registers
• seal penetration in duct work with new metal
• ensure new seal has no leaks
